This was such an unexpected surprise my parents got for me as a early Christmas present. In October, I was in my bedroom, sitting at my desk, aimlessly scrolling through instagram and I saw that Riley posted that she is headlining her very first Christmas tour! “The First Christmas Tour” was the name. And I saw it, & got so excited that I ran downstairs to the kitchen where my parents were at. And I say to my mom, excitedly, “mom! Riley is coming to Ohio on December 11, can we please go?!” She says “yes” and then she goes onto say that there is only VIP pickings. And so she buys that for me. As each day gets closer, I get so excited. From the very first moment I knew I was seeing+meeting Riley in concert, I couldn’t shut up about it! The days and months fly by and I am just in my element of excitement, but then suddenly, fear grips me! I then start to spiral into thinking, ‘I’m gonna say something dumb or offensive!’ I go on to texting my friends about my fears, they start to reassure me that I’ll do great and that I just need to be myself. Tbh, they had to tell me that a lot because I was believing into my fears. Anyways, it’sday of the concert and I’m just so stoked the whole day!!! I assigned a schedule to get ready for the show. I woke up at 8 am. Ate breakfast, read my Bible and told myself, “I’ll start to get ready at 2-2:30. Before that time of getting ready, I took a nap so I could be ready and energized for the whole night. I wake up, get ready and we leave at 3:30 or so. My meet&greet was at 5:30. But anywho, we are driving and then we stop to get a Starbucks and bathroom breaks. It took us 40-45 mins to get to the bar. When we arrive to the bar/restaurant, I see a Christmas tree on the stage through a window and I’m just losing my mind! I’m so excited !!! We walk into the place and right as we walk in, I see Riley’s merchandise table and a big board of her on it and behind the board was the stairs up to the balcony and where I was going to meet Riley. And then as you turn the corner, you see the stage and all the tables and chairs. The scenery is beautiful! I buy a few items of her merch and walk up the stairs to secure my place! The staff there was so sweet! The tourist up there, shows me around the upstairs and where the bathroom is ect. As we get up, I sit down on this chair waiting to meet Riley and I am EXCITED!!! These are my senses in this scenario.
I smell delicious food. I feel the adrenaline of excitement and joy in me. I see the stage, the underway of the balcony, I see so many people. I hear people chatting, glasses clanging. I taste my ice cold water that I’m drinking.
